Sometimes known as Thai kickboxing, Muay Thai is a striking
martial art practiced
in large parts of the world, including Thailand and other Southeast
Asian countries. The art is similar to others in Southeast Asia such
as: Pradal
Serey in Cambodia, Lethwei in Myanmar, Tomoi in Malaysia,
and Lao Boxing in Laos. |
| Brazilian Jiu Jitsu | |

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a martial art and combat sport that focuses on grappling and especially ground fighting. It is a derivative of early 20th century Kodokan Judo, which was itself then a recently-developed system (founded in 1882), based on multiple schools of Japanese Jiu Jitsu. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu allows for a smaller, weaker person to be successful in defending themselves against a bigger, stronger assailant using leverage and proper technique; most notably, by applying joint-locks and chokeholds to defeat them. |
| Mixed Martial Arts | |

Mixed martial arts training draws from many styles, but
ultimately joining two methods: Striking and Ground Fighting. Techinques and concepts from the following will be taught and used: -Muay Thai -Brazilian Jiu Jitsu -Wrestling (Catch and Freestyle) -Boxing -Judo -San Soo Here at Core Fight Academy we bring our experience in many martial arts to develop a complete Martial Artist. Understanding all aspects of a fight and becoming well versed in the different ranges of fighting will allow for greater adaptability to most any situation. Be it for competitive fighting (MMA) or practical self-defense. *Mixed Martial Art classes are only offered through our Unlimited Membership Program. |
